I felt compelled to write and share what an incredible force majeure Cokie was in the media world. Our careers paralleled in the early days, me on-air in Chicago and she in Washington DC. When we met in person we always embraced the way good girlfriends do, as if time had not past. My heart goes out to her family, she loved them so. May God grant her eternal rest. She deserves it; her legacy is deeply rooted in all the women on-air reporting stories that empower, enlighten and engage. RIP.
