I was so happy to celebrate the professional achievements of award-winning journalist Mary Mitchell of the Chicago Sun Times recently. It was great to be in a room of other Chicago media, civic and community leaders paying homage to columnist and journalist Mary Mitchell. Whenever I've had occasion to watch Mary "at work" over the past 30 years -- I've been gobsmacked by her passion, commitment and tenacity to give voice to the underrepresented and vulnerable, and to tell the stories that matter, those that impact the lives of our family, friends, neighbors and community.
